The Xact Tone Solutions - Winford Drive is a hightly adaptable overdrive/distortaion pedal that presents the player with some powerful controls. The Gain knob covers tones from very light overdrive to monstrous distortion. The Mid Boost produces a natural sounding tonal addition that cuts through, and can give single coil pickups some heft more common with humbuckers. The Tone and Presence knobs are effective in brightening up a signal without making it sound harshly piercing. As always, the stuff from XTS produces great amp-like tones that are naturally responsive.
